Upon first seeing the photo that inspired this painting, I was instantly reminded of my childhood summers in the the mountains and the serenity of the scenery there. The viewer 's gaze instantly locks with those of the girl, and inspires them to reflect on the continuity of nature, as the silent lake is reflected into the water.
